On March 3, State Department spokesperson Jen Psaki stated that the violent attack at Kunming Railway Station on March 1 was an “act of terrorism” and that we should mourn the victims.
At a regular press conference held by telephone, Psaki said the U.S. should accept characterizing the attack in China as an “act of terrorism”. Whatever the motive, we condemn the act of violence against innocent civilians, and “we as a staff express our condolences to the victims.”
Psaki also stated that the “Kunming incident” is independently an act of terrorism against the general public, “therefore, we must call it terrorism.” She stressed, “We are naturally opposed to all forms of terrorism.”
During the evening of March 1, masked thugs stabbed innocent people, causing 29 deaths and injuring 143 people. International organizations, such as the United Nations Security Council, as well as some countries strongly condemn these serious terrorist attacks.
